Privacy Policy

Globe International Limited (“Globe”) trading as Globe™ is committed to protecting the privacy and security of all information collected from our customers, potential customers and any other persons we deal with, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 and its thirteen Australian Privacy Principles. This Privacy Policy outlines the information collection practices utilized by Globe, how personal information is used, held and disclosed and the choices you can make in relation to your personal information.

The personal information we collect and hold

"Personal information" is information or an opinion, in any form and whether true or not, about an identified individual or an individual who is reasonably identifiable.  Examples include an individual's name, address, contact number and email address and date of birth.

The kinds of personal information Globe collects and holds about you depends on the nature of your dealings with us and the circumstances of collection, including whether we collect the information about you as a customer, supplier, contractor, shareholder, job applicant or in some other capacity.

For example, when you lodge an enquiry with or submit an order to Globe either by telephone, via our websites, or by any other method we collect information about you in order to enable us to complete our sales transaction or to provide information about our products or our company or to service your request. This information may include your name, your contact details, your purchase or enquiries and relevant business and financial information. We may not be able to serve you fully if you do not supply the information.

If you are a shareholder, we collect your name, address and information about your shareholding.

If you deal with Globe in some other capacity, we may collect your name and contact details and any other information you choose to provide to us. We may also collect details of the interactions you have with us.

We will take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we collect from you is accurate, up to date and complete and that when we use or disclose that information it remains accurate, up to date and complete. If you request that we correct or change information that we have previously provided to third parties, then we will take reasonable steps to do so unless it is impracticable or unlawful to do so.

We do not generally collect sensitive information such as information about political opinions, religious beliefs, sexual preferences or about a person's health, and will not collect sensitive information about you without your consent (unless we are otherwise required or authorised by or under law to do so).   If you apply to be an employee or contractor with Globe, we may collect sensitive information such as health information or criminal records as part of our recruitment process.

If you are a potential customer you have the option of not identifying yourself or alternatively you can use a pseudonym, for instance, when you ask for a catalogue of our products or product information. However, the use of a pseudonym might not always be practicable as it may make it difficult for us to forward such information without your name being made available to us.

If you are or have been a Globe employee, the handling of your personal information may be exempt from the Australian Privacy Principles if it is directly related to your current or former employment relationship with us.
